Appeal Letters

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

Overview

Appeal Letters is a UK-based service that helps people write formal dispute and appeal letters. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under UK data protection law.

What information we collect

When you use Appeal Letters, we ask you to provide:

  • Your full name and postal address
  • The type of dispute you are raising
  • Details of what happened and what outcome you want
  • Optionally, the name or organisation the letter is addressed to

We do not ask for your email address, phone number, date of birth, or any financial information beyond what is required for payment.

How we use your information

The information you provide is used solely to generate your appeal letter. It is passed to our AI provider (Anthropic) to produce the letter text, and temporarily stored to allow you to access the letter after payment.

We do not use your information for marketing, profiling, or any purpose other than generating and delivering your letter.

Data retention

We do not retain your form data or letter content after your session ends. Letters are stored temporarily during the payment and delivery process and are automatically deleted once retrieved. We do not build a database of your disputes or personal details.

Third parties

We use the following third-party services to operate Appeal Letters:

  • Stripe — Payment processing. Stripe handles all card transactions. We do not see or store your card details. Stripe's privacy policy applies to your payment information: stripe.com/gb/privacy
  • Anthropic — AI letter generation. Your dispute details are sent to Anthropic's API to generate the letter. Anthropic's privacy policy applies: anthropic.com/privacy
  • Vercel — Hosting. Our service runs on Vercel's infrastructure. Standard server logs (IP address, request timestamps) may be retained by Vercel for a limited period: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy

Cookies

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies. The only cookies used are essential session cookies required for the service to function, such as maintaining your state during the payment process.

Your rights under UK GDPR

As a UK resident, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • The right to know what data we hold about you
  • The right to request deletion of your data
  • The right to object to how your data is used
  • The right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk

Because we do not store your data after your session ends, in most cases there will be nothing to retrieve or delete. If you have a specific concern, contact us and we will respond within 30 days.
